MISSION

The Live Steam Model Builder Foundation (FMVV) was established on January 1, 2010.
Its main goals are to:

• preserve the heritage of replicas of live steam engines and safeguard from abandonment and destruction all replicas of live steam engines and others,
• to permit the construction and maintenance of a building for the purpose of storing the said models of live steam locomotives in gauge of 3.5, 5 and 7.25 inches, as well as any other live steam engines other than locomotives,
• create a collection that could be made available to a museum if necessary The FMVV is the project leader of the project to enhance the collections and create a museum depot at the Swiss Vapeur Parc to house them. Its activities aim in particular to raise the necessary funds to enable the public to be made available to a heritage to be valued and shared, with a view to disseminating knowledge.

The FMVV is chaired by Yves Marclay, Director General of the MOB. Its founding members are all from the Swiss Vapeur Parc public limited company. The project to build a depot-museum also benefits from the support of the former Valais State Councillor Claude Roch, who gave his support to the managers of the Swiss Vapeur Parc as soon as it moved to Le Bouveret.
