Due to the exceptional nature of this collection, the rarity of the know-how it embodies and the absence in Switzerland of a comparable place dedicated to their conservation, operation and transmission, the Foundation assumes a heritage mission that goes far beyond the regional framework. <\/p>\n Its action is part of an approach of national interest: to preserve and make accessible a technical, artisanal and industrial heritage that belongs to the Swiss collective memory and bears witness to a decisive period in the development of the country, its transport and its mechanical know-how.
